PRIVACY
How do we handle your personal data?
In this privacy policy we explain you how we collect and use your personal data and information. This privacy policy applies to all your personal data that we process if you travel with us, purchase our services or utilize them, visit our website or in any other way you are in touch with us.
Processing and security of personal data

When you utilize the services of Driftawave B.V. we need certain information from you.
It is our policy to handle your personal data with the most care and transparency. We also process data, such as requesting data such as when requesting information, contests, and visiting our website. The amount of data we collect depends on how you interact with us. For example, if you book a trip with us, we ask you for more extensive personal data than if you only request a brochure or surf our website.
Which data do we collect and what do we use this for?

Your personal data is mainly processed by us to give you an unforgettable journey. We may collect, use, store, and transfer various types of personal information about you. This personal data will only be used for matters related to your booking. We also use third parties who receive personal data and process this data on behalf of Driftawave B.V. For example airlines, local agencies, tour guides, community managers, insurance companies, and hotels. We only share data with external parties if this is necessary to carry out your trip.
Overview of the information we record when booking

Your personal details: first- and last name, address, gender, date of birth, meal preference, and other travel preferences.
Phone number: we may need to contact you about your booking.
Email address: you will receive an email with, among other things, the confirmation of your booking(s) that you have made.
Identification documents: additional personal data is required to record the trip, such as your passport or identity card details, including your passport number, place of issue, date of issue and expiry date. For some trips, for example due to the preparation of your visa application or obtaining the required travel authorizations or to record transport/excursions, a passport copy is required.
In some countries, you will be asked for your passport when you check in at the hotels. The reception staff will make a copy of this. In some countries, hotels are required by law to identify and register their guests at check-in.
In more and more countries, a fingerprint is requested at airports at immigration / passport control. A photo of your face is also often taken at this counter. Local authorities require this procedure, so keep this in mind.
Payment details: in order to pay for your trip, we use a secure payment environment. When you pay with iDeal or via bank transfer, your data will be stored in our administration in order to link the payment to your booking.
Person staying at home: while making the trip it may happen that we have to contact a person staying at home. Therefore, we ask you to enter a telephone number of the person staying at home in the booking form, so that we can contact you in the event of an emergency.
Sensitive personal data
For the execution/delivery of travel services, we ask for your consent to process sensitive personal data, which may reveal health (such as wheelchair registration), religion (such as requests for religiously related food), or sexual life (e.g. when booking) gay travel products (art. . 9 para. 1 GDPR) and which are voluntarily provided to us and processed by us for the performance/delivery of travel services.
This consent also includes processing by other lawful recipients for whom this data is also necessary for the performance/provision of travel services, such as tour operators or service providers (accommodation operators, carriers, etc.), including potential recipients in a third country who may also receive data in the case of a non-equivalent level of data protection according to Art. 49 (1) lit. an GDPR. The consent is valid for the duration of the business relationship between you and the controller and thereafter for storage within the framework of the legal retention obligation to which the controller and the recipients are subject and can be withdrawn at any time using the known contact options. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent if the consent is not withdrawn. If the revocation takes place prior to the provision of services, services for which these data are required can no longer be provided after the revocation.
Consent is already required at the time of booking, because in many cases sensitive data can also be communicated to us at short notice during or after the trip and explicit consent cannot be guaranteed in all cases. You are free not to give this permission. In this case, no contract can be concluded, as sensitive customer data may not be processed without explicit consent.
If the sensitive personal data of your fellow travelers is processed as described above and they do not confirm the processing themselves, assure them as the person registering for the trip that the fellow travelers have been informed and agree to this.

Cookie Policy
Driftawave and third parties use cookies and other techniques (collectively referred to as cookies) to analyze websites, make them more user-friendly, offer social media and show you relevant offers both on and outside the website. By using our website(s), you agree to this.
A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer or other equipment when you visit a website. By placing these cookies, Driftawave can provide you with a better service immediately and in the future. Both Driftawave and other parties we work with (such as Google) can place cookies on your computer and other devices.
Driftawave distinguishes different types of cookies
o Functional cookies are used to promote user-friendliness, so that you do not have to make the same selection or login again if you have done so before.
o Transaction cookies are used when you have made a booking, and where applicable to pay our partners’ commissions.
o Monitoring/Analytics cookies are placed mostly on behalf of other parties such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Visual Website Optimizer. This allows Driftawave to map the (visit) search behavior and adjust its services accordingly so that we can provide you as a (potential) customer with even better service.
o Marketing or targeting cookies are placed to store your interests so that offers are made both on and outside the Driftawave websites that are in line with your wishes/interests. Driftawave can also no longer automatically show offers if you have already used them or if you have already seen them a few times. Without these cookies, there is a chance that you will see irrelevant advertisements from us more often. We would like to point out that you can also see advertisements from Driftawave without cookies.
Which third parties place Cookies via the Driftawave websites?

Driftawave cooperates with third parties in the field of social media, visitor statistics, advertisements and streaming video that also place cookies. The following companies, among others, are partners of Driftawave as such: Google (Analytics, Adwords, Youtube), Bing Search Marketing, Tradetracker (Affiliates), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Website Optimizer, Criteo, Mailchimp, and Hotjar. For more information about how these parties deal with cookies, please read their privacy conditions, such as for Google Analytics and LinkedIn.
Do you have an interest in placing cookies?
Cookies allow us to analyze surfing behavior and make offers that are relevant to you. For example, you will not see the same offer every time, which does not match your wishes. We are constantly improving our online service based on data we derive from trends and behavior on our websites.
Can you adjust or delete cookies?
You can always delete the cookies on your device via your browser. You can also decide whether you want to accept cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. You can set your browser to refuse cookies. We would like to point out that turning off cookies may limit your use of our website (and other websites). You can disable the use of Google cookies by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page.
